Periodic checks

The purpose of periodic inspection, in addition to ensuring safety, is to prevent malfunctions, breakdowns, or even machine downtime, while achieving better production efficiency, an increased lifespan of the machines, and above all a reduction in costs for extraordinary maintenance interventions.

In particular, our experience in overhead crane maintenance has led us to structure inspections on two levels. The first level, carried out quarterly, covers all mechanical moving parts. The second level, performed semi-annually, examines the structure of the overhead crane itself.

Quarterly inspection

This consists of a thorough check of ropes, chains, brakes, and wheels, performed by testing their structural and functional integrity. The check-up is then completed by examining the wear and lubrication status of all mechanical parts such as motors, couplings, gear reducers, drums, and any other component that enables the crane’s movement.

Automazione Veneto performs quarterly inspections (paragraph 8, art. 71 of Legislative Decree 81/08) also on lifting equipment such as: forklifts, platforms, mobile cranes, and truck-mounted cranes, relying on established partners for the periodic inspections required by Annex VII, and also carrying out, upon request, any maintenance necessary to ensure proper equipment operation.

Semi-annual inspection

This involves verifying the integrity of the entire bridge structure, including all welds and bolted joints, using an auxiliary lifting device. The trolley, runways, and rails are also checked, and, if necessary, tested with penetrant liquids to rule out the presence of cracks. After each inspection, a report is issued highlighting any components that need replacement. We are also specialized in repairing steel structures and in replacing crane runway rails.
