A2A thermoelectric power plant – Gissi (Chieti)
The Gissi (CH) thermoelectric power plant consists of two twin sections with a total electrical output of approximately 840 MW, powered by natural gas.
The plant entered into operation at the end of June 2008. To reduce atmospheric emissions, the gas turbines installed in the power station are equipped with “primary” combustion technologies, namely Dry Low NOx (DLN) burners and a sequential combustion system. To ensure CO emission control even at low loads, a catalytic reduction system has been installed inside the heat recovery steam generators, in the section where flue gas temperatures are optimal for its operation.
The water supply system is based on the recovery of both rainwater and process water, as well as the use of water from the existing consortium treatment plant; therefore, no water resources are drawn from springs or groundwater. Automazione Veneto contributed to the design and installation of the HVAC systems.
An HVAC system has some specific characteristics. The first peculiarity is the grouping of interconnected mechanical systems, such as air conditioners, boilers, air purifiers, and heat pumps. The integration of different systems allows the optimization of indoor comfort management: to achieve this goal, each individual unit must provide its own contribution.
